Google and Twitter hold new partnership to fight extremism |
Google and Twitter have agreed on a new partnership to combat extremism. The two companies have vowed to step up their efforts to oversee their online platforms to identify and punish radical content, as well as to identify and punish organizations and individuals who promote such ideas.
The latest initiative was announced in Indonesia, where the two companies reached an agreement with the local government after Indonesia threatened to ban social media and communication applications because of the issue. The current administration has suppressed extremists who have been trying to drag Internet users into extremism for a long time.
This local branch of Google also agreed to cooperate with a number of NGOs that will manually identify extreme videos on YouTube.
